Grover “Granddaddy” Gambreal, 81 of Kansas City, MO arrived in Heaven on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014. Born July 8, 1933, Grover was the only child of George & Eunice (Hall) Gambreal of Clarksville, TN. His faith & family were the focus of his life. His confident demeanor, quick wit and debating skills were his trademark. Loving and generous to all that he met, he loved helping people and sharing his vast knowledge. He was a jack-of-all trades and master of many, having countless vocations including paper & delivery boy, door-to-door sales, piano repair, watchmaker, youth leader, choir director, school teacher & Pastor. He retired from Acme Radiator & Air in 1998. He is preceded in death by his parents & eldest daughter Reba D. Asby of KCMO. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty Gambreal; youngest daughter Pat Gambreal and partner Joy Beyl of KCMO; grandson Christopher Asby & wife Michelle of Liberty, MO & his great-grandchildren Avry, Brayden & Addison Asby; extended family son-in-law David Asby & wife Lynda of KCMO, granddaughter Kristin Didde and husband Shawn of Blue Springs, MO and grandson Byron Devlin and wife Emily of N. Kansas City, MO. His family will remember him as a devoted & faithful husband, loving father, dedicated grandfather & doting great-grandfather. A 1 pm visitation is planned for Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014 followed by a 2 pm funeral at Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th St, KCMO. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations in Grover's name to the Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Walk and/or TLC6 Unit.
