Gladys Turner

Gladys M. Turner, 79, of Smithville, MO died at Golden Living Care Center on Friday, December 25, 2015.  She was born March 18, 1936 in Buchanan County, Missouri to the late Roy and Eugenia (Saxton) Hadley.

Gladys is survived by her children; John (Connie) Turner, David (Sandi) Turner and Anthony (Terri) Turner; 6 grandchildren; Michelle (Kerry) Elder, Jennifer (Ryan) Ralston, Johnna (Caleb) Wheeler, Stephanie (Tyler) Colbert, Vincent (Stephany) Turner and Toni Diane Turner, 10 Great-grandchildren; Jeffrey, Jayce, Cali, Hunter, Rayce, Rex, Lani, Tony, Nathan and Annie;   brothers, Louis (Barbara) Hadley and Lawrence (Karen) Hadley.  Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She worked in restaurants for many years; spending several years at Hardee’s where she would prep the food for the next day; Her greatest joy was being at home. She was more than a homemaker, she was a professional Mom and Grandma; she spent many years babysitting neighborhood children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—it was the joy of her life.

In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by her husband John E. Turner, 11 siblings and her grandson A.J. Turner.

Visitation will be Monday, December 28, 2015 from 6-8 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.  Tony Martinez will officiate the funeral service on Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
