Gladys Mays

Gladys Ellen Mays, 92, of Kansas City went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2017. Mrs. Mays was born to James and Edna Cochran on October 28, 1924, in Shannon County, Missouri.  Foremost in Mrs. Mays’ life was her tremendous faith in God.  She read the Bible daily, completed devotions and enjoyed listening to Christian programs.  Grandma had an enormous amount of love for her family, as she proudly displayed every picture of her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great grandkids she could get a hold of.  On many occasions, she could remember details about all of her grandkids that others had forgotten.  Grandma also loved flowers and had a special place in her heart for animals.  We will forever miss her hugs and how she would always end a phone call with, “I love you too, hun.”  Besides her parents, she joins in Heaven her husband, Daniel Earl Mays Sr (1992) daughter and son-in-law, Beth (2012) & Roy Roper (2016), son Daniel E. Mays Jr. (2013), son-in-law Harold J. Harding Jr.(1995), brother Willard Cochran and sisters Jewell Parker and Beulah Martin.  Mrs. Mays is survived by her son Gary Mays of the home, daughter Kathryn Harding, daughter and son-in-law Sharron & John Beaird all of Kansas City, grandchildren Shelley & Jeff Krogmann, John Beaird Jr., Michael & Michele Harding, Christine & Richard Dalton, David Mays, Kristina & John Ricketts, great-grandchildren Alyssa, Jessie, Daniel, Matthew, Nathan, Jonathan, Jacob, Samantha & Emily,  great-great grandchildren Aiden and Annabelle and other loving family, including Wanda McCoy & Doug Mellor of Kansas City.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Terrace Park Lakeside Chapel, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.
