Gerri Head

Freda "Gerri" Head, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away on November 21, 2018.

Gerri was born to Russell and Ethyl Webb on December 21, 1936 in Sedalia, Missouri. As a young girl, she moved to Kansas City with her family where she would continue to live. She met and married Porter R. Head, and spent many years as a homemaker raising their five children.

Gerri was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Northern Heights.

She had many talents and hobbies, but by far her favorite was making jewelry out of buttons, which awarded her the nickname "The Button Lady".

Gerri is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Porter R. Head; two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her children, Kenny (Debbie) Head, Janet Head, Debbie (Glen Musick) Fassnacht, Mary Lynn Head, and Jim (Cassie) Head; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one sister.

Services will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home, with visitation on Wednesday, November 28th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and funeral on Thursday, November 29th at 1:30 p.m., burial to follow at East Slope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
