Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Smith, 59, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 surrounded by his family. Jerry was born July 19, 1958 to Judd and Josie Smith, in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1976. On September 20, 1980 he married his wife, Cindy. Jerry enjoyed NASCAR and barbequing competitively. He was happiest when his time was spent entertaining friends, family and many “adopted kids” at the Lugnut Lounge, where he could be found barefoot more times than not. He was a Master Mason at Lathrop Lodge #506. Jerry will forever be remembered as a simple man that loved life.
He is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Larry Smith.
He is survived by his wife Cindy Smith of 37 years, two children Walker (Haley) Smith of Kansas City, MO and Aftyn Smith of Kansas City, MO. Also survived by his niece, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Terrace Park Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:30 PM, with a Memorial Service to share stories and memories immediately following at 7:30 PM; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO.
