George Salsig

George Clyde Salsig, 80, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Garden Valley Manor. George was born July 17, 1937 to Walter and Delia (Suman) Salsig in Kansas City, Kansas. George graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, KS. He joined the Air Force in 1955 where he worked as a jet mechanic. He met Patricia Shaw the love of his life at a stop light in North Kansas City, and on September 16, 1961 the couple married. George worked for Grinell Corp as a salesman and retired from there in 2002. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, shooting, and working on cars. Most of his time was devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, brother, Thomas Salsig and sister, Mary Lund.

He is survived by his two children; Thomas (Jodee) Salsig, of Independence, MO, and Pamela Tapp of Kansas City, MO, sister, Carol Zaretzke of Everett, WA, and four grandchildren; Matt, Kenny, Mendi, and Taylor. She also leaves behind 2 great grandchildren Rylynne and Joslynne and a host of many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 1:00 PM with Funeral Services immediately following at 2:00 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home Lakeside Chapel; 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions go to Liberty Hospital Hospice. Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
