Gary Shingleton

Gary Wayne Shingleton, 74, Kansas City North, died October 3rd from a long illness. Gary was born May 20, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo. His parents were Melvin Keith Shingleton and Kathryn Jean (Johnston) Shingleton. The family moved to Glendale, CA in 1959 and then to Simi Valley, CA in 1964. Gary loved the beach, especially surfing. He joined the Marine Corps in 1968. Relocating back to Kansas City in 1982, Gary was a devoted son, and relished his role as "Uncle Gary" to his niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, and is survived by his mother, Kathryn, 92, residing in Platte City, Mo; a brother, Keith Douglas Shingleton, 78, of Gladstone, Mo; a niece, Melissa Kaye Shingleton, 45, Casa Grande, AZ; a nephew, Kevin Nathaniel Shingleton, 41, Kansas City North, and a grand-nephew, A.J. Shingleton-Willis, 3, Casa Grande, AZ, and a host of loving cousins. Burial will be at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in Kansas City. No services will be held.
