Gary Larabee

Gary Gene Larabee, died in Kansas City MO during a trip visiting relatives. He was born on May 18, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. He joined the Air Force in 1967 serving in Vietnam in 1968-1969. He earned the rank of Sergeant Major and retired honorably from the military as a Purple Heart recipient.

Taking advantage of the GI Bill to pay for his college, he graduated from central Missouri University with a Bachelor degree in Marketing. After working for Swagelok for a mere 8 months, Gary quit and started a distribution business in 1975. During this entrepreneurial venture, Gary represented numerous major instrumentation companies such as Permacal, Crystal Engineering, Saab Tank Radar and Eaton. While expanding his company, Gary received numerous awards including top international salesman for Saab Tank Control for two consecutive years. With his good looks and athletic ability, Gary was a lady’s man and a real life Don Draper!

After 30 years as CEO and President of C & G Industrial Supply, Gary dissolved the business and retired on Bonaire, an island within the Netherlands Antilles, located in the Caribbean. He greatly enjoyed early retirement with activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling.

He was survived by two daughters, Danielle (Gene) Larabee Fraser and Allison Larabee, a son, Matthew Larabee, a sister Jeannie (Linn) Numer, two brothers, Larry (Luba) Larabee and Fred (Ann) Larabee, spouse and ex-spouse June Larabee and Cathy Larabee.
