FREDRICK LEE MOOR
Fredrick L. Moor, 91, of Gladstone, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by family Dec. 16, 2015. Fred was a retired Pipefitter, having helped construct many structures in the Kansas City area. He was a long-time member of Englewood Baptist Church and Timothy Baptist Church. After graduating from Paseo High in 1942, he served his country during WWII as a weatherman for the Army Air Corps. He married the lovely Avis Hower in 1954, whom was taken with his gentle spirit, good looks and steady job along with a sporty car. Raising two wonderful children, Mark and Cheryl, they enjoyed typical American pastimes such as car trips, birthdays and home cooked meals, (unless the roast burned due to lengthy Sunday service.)
Fred enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical; there were few things he couldn’t fix or make better. He had a quiet and serious demeanor that hid a sharp wit. He liked people, but loved animals, especially cats.
Fred was preceded in death by his Pipefitter father, Rhea, mother, Esther, Avis, and sister,
Jacqueline. He is survived by Mark and Cheryl, brothers, Don and Rhea (Dean), grandchildren, Jacob, Kelly, Gavin and Jillian and Fridge, the cat.
Visitation will be Mon. Dec. 21, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Terrace Park Lakeside Chapel, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) KCMO. Services will follow at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kitty Cat Connection, P.O. Box 902085 KCMO 64190.
