Frances Shireman

Frances “Fran” Shireman 93, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away October 19, 2023.

Fran was the youngest of ten siblings born on August 12, 1930, in England, Arkansas to the late Powell and Virginia Carr. She was married to her late husband, Robert “Bob” Shireman in 1948 then later moved to Kansas City, started a family, and shared 59 wonderful years together. She loved going to daily lunch with her daughter, square dancing with her husband, attending all her grandson’s baseball games, and hearing every story and seeing every picture of her great-granddaughter. She was a long-standing member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, enjoyed traveling with her friends, and read nearly every late-modern era novel in the library. In looking back over her 93 years as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend Fran will forever be remembered for always putting others before herself. She leaves behind a daughter, Robin Sanford; a son-in-law Thomas Sanford; a grandson, Carson (Abigail) Sanford; and a great-granddaughter, Brickell Sanford.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery - Lakeside Chapel on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10:00am, followed by the burial. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Good Shepherd Gladstone 2800 NE 64^th St Gladstone, MO 64119.
