Frances Breen, 86, born in Liberty, MO and a longtime resident of Kansas City, MO passed away on Sept. 9, 2013. She was a devoted wife, married to Robert R. Breen in 1954 and loving mother of four children and "Nana" to her grandchildren. Francee modeled in Kansas City after high school for 2 years and worked at Kraft Foods for over 10 years. She did window decorations in the former Kruger stores in both KC and Wichita. She loved to paint oil paintings over the years and shared them with her family and friends. She was always volunteering. Francee was a Cub Scout leader for 4 years and also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader for over 12 years. She enjoyed all the many camp-outs, skating parties and activities she put together for her troops. She and others started the Health Room at St. Therese grade school with just a desk and an army cot. She taught Red Cross First Aid for many parents at the school as well. Francee was very active including bowling, Jaycees and an Election Board Judge for Platte County. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville, held her Real Estate License for years and was an Ambassador at KCI Airport. She was an excellent cook and entertainer. Francee was always part of her children's activities from football to swimming to music lessons. In addition to her grand-children, she enjoyed soccer games and many of their high school activities. She had a close network of friends that she played bridge and card games with over the many years in her life and she truly treasured their friendships. Francee was Queen Mum of her Red Hatters Group. She also enjoyed traveling and went on many cruises and trips to Europe with her husband, sister and close friends. Her favorite place was the Mediterranean. Francee was a wonderful example of how to live life and she was a true gift to her family and friends.She is survived by her four children, Robert R. II and Carlene Breen; E. Matthew and Roseanna Breen; Bridget Breen and Lee Smith; Cee Cee and Nick Swartz; her grandchildren, Robert R. Breen, Brooke Swartz, Taylor and Matthew Breen; great grand-daughter Camille Breen; step-grandchildren, Travis, Kendall and Kourtney Smith and Eric Swartz; sister, Maxine Mikolajewski and brother, Gene Burk.Visitation 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO. (Please note that the intersection at 169 Hwy and 108th St. is under construction- use the detour at N Platte Purchase and 152 Hwy to 108th Street.) Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at St. Therese Catholic Church at 7207 NW Hwy 9, Parkville, MO 64152. Burial in Mt.
