Floyd O. "Butch" Bartch, 73, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away April 18, 2014 at home unexpectedly. Visitation will be 10:00am-12:00pm, funeral service to begin at 12:00pm, Wednesday, April 23rd at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 1600 North 291 Highway, Liberty, Missouri under the direction of Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Soup Kitchen Central Avenue Center of Hope, 11 N. 15th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66102, or online at www.centralavecenterofhope.org/ Floyd was born March 2, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He served 4 years in the Air Force; he has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in Sociology. He served 31 years with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and retired as the Chief of Police in 1999. He was the Vice-President of the Kansas City Police Retirement Board and an avid volunteer with the Soup Kitchen Central Avenue Center of Hope. Butch's greatest accomplishment was his family.He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd O. Bartch and his granddaughter, Rebecca A. Bartch.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Myrna; mother, Mildred; sister, Sherry; 3 children, Robin (Mark) Houston, Melanie (Rob) Fields and Brian (Marcia) Bartch and 8 grandchildren, Rachel, Sean, Aaron (Amanda), Jamie, Nick, Kristin, Dana and Emily.
