Florence Evelyn Chisam, 71, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully in her home August 30, 2017. She was born May 30, 1946 in Louisville, Georgia to the late John Thomas and Ruby (Merritt) Cheeks.
Evelyn was born and raised in Louisville, GA. At the age of 21, she met Bob Chisam and they moved to Kansas City, where they raised their family together. Evelyn loved to fish wherever they were biting. She loved being around the water and loved to take her boat out. Family was important to Evelyn and she would do anything for them. She never had a bad word to say about anything.
In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Cheeks.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 50 years, Bob Chisam; son, Shane (Shawna) Chisam; step-daughter, Brenda Callison; grandchildren, Clayton Chisam, Karlee Chisam, Hallee Chisam; step-grandchildren, Brian Jones, Melissa Jones, Kimberly Callison, Kayla Callison, Joseph Callison; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joe (Barbara) Cheeks, Sue (Johnny) Hudson and her four-legged companion, Midnight.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 12:30-2 PM with services at 2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
