Elizabeth "Betsy" Carmichael

Elizabeth "Betsy" Carmichael, 95, passed away on November 30, 2018 at the St. Luke's Hospice House.

She was born on December 11, 1922 to Elmer E. and Leona (McCollum) Ranes in rural Jamesport, MO. She attended school in Jamesport, graduating in 1941. On May 17, 1941, Betsy married George D. Carmichael. Betsy sold Real Estate in the Kansas City North area for about 30 years. She was of the Christian faith and a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW.

Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; sister, Vada Brown of Jamesport, MO; half brother, Ernest Ranes; and an infant brother.

Betsy is survived by her son; Dwight E. Carmichael (wife, Elizabeth); and sister Alice Youngman (husband, Norman) of Jamesport, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Burial and reception to follow.
