Elinor Zurbuchen

August 15, 1927 — June 21, 2016

Elinor L. Zurbuchen, 88, of Gower, MO went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved her family dearly and demonstrated that love by supporting endeavors, attending events, meeting needs and listening to updates. She enjoyed sharing the countless blessings God bestowed on her with others.

In her early years she worked for New York Life Insurance Company and NKC Medical Group before helping run Minnesota Bait & Fly Company until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Jefferson and Nina (Crumbliss) Kennedy, husband, Rudolph Zurbuchen, daughter Michelle Rhoads, brothers Kenneth and O.J. Kennedy and sister Lynn Brown. She leaves behind two daughters and their spouses, Jan (Fred) Jobe and Deanna (Scott) Wolff, grandchildren Eric (Anna) Jobe, Sara and Orlando Vega, Sara (Miles) Stucker, Ashley, Madelynn, Skyler, Marshall, Shelby and Zoe Rhoads, Hunter, Autumn and Josiah Wolff, two brothers and their spouses Robert (Ginny) Kennedy and Jack (Janice) Kennedy, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-4 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Funeral service will be 4 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church Blessing Chest, 5502 Frederick Boulevard, St. Joseph, MO 64507 or to your charity of choice.
