ELDON JAY SPICER
Eldon J. Spicer, 92, of Fairway, Kansas, passed away August 18, 2016. He was born October 3, 1923 in Leon, Iowa to Harry John and Martha (McDaniel) Spicer.
Eldon was a family man and family was very important to him. When he was able, he loved to go camping and fishing. Eldon could always be found in his garage tinkering on something and he loved to watch baseball, especially the Royals. Eldon retired from TWA in 1985 after 39 years of service and was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a beloved father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
Eldon is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alexandra Spicer; 3 infant siblings, Lonnie, Jackie and Carol; sister and brother-in-law, Verlea and Donald Nielsen; 2 brothers, William G. Spicer and Harry D. Spicer; nephew, Gilbert Perkins; niece, Diana Spicer; 3 great-nephews, Sam Spicer, B.J. Siler and Douglas Spicer.
Those left to cherish Eldon’s memory include his daughter, Carol (Robert) Doleshal; 3 granddaughters, Debra (James) Morgan, Kellie (Eric) Heath, Heather (Jeffrey) Phillips; 5 great-grandchildren, Samuel Morgan, Grace Morgan, Caroline Morgan, Emma Phillips, Rachel Phillips; 5 siblings, Roy (Marjorie) Spicer, Bernice (Lloyd) Walker, Richard Lee (Carolyn) Spicer, Reggie Spicer, Norma Spicer-Kenner; sisters-in-law, Martha Spicer and Ruth Spicer and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from 10-11 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11 AM at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1001 Southwest Blvd, Kansas City, KS. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Johnson County Meals on Wheels.
