Edward Nicholas Patterson, 79, of Kansas City, died, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at NorthCare Hospice House. He was born April 23, 1938 in Lincoln, Nebraska to the late Edward V. and Julia (Kenkel) Patterson.
Ed proudly served in the U.S. Navy then retired from the Ford Claycomo plant after 30 years of service; he enjoyed traveling, mostly to the west and always by car. He also enjoyed square dancing, was an avid Nebraska Huskers, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals fan. He also enjoyed putting in and taking care of the vegetable garden at home.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois M. (Frerichs) Patterson; sons Lee Patterson and Dennis (Kandi) Patterson; grandson Brennan. Sister Mary Vidlak, brothers in law Karl (Debbie) Frerichs and Paul (Donna) Frerichs; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his daughter Carrie Patterson, sisters Luella Culp and Rose Shepoka, brother Donald Patterson and nephews Mike and Jerry Culp.
Services will be Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. Stephen Lutheran Church 205 N Forest Ave. Liberty, MO. Visitation from 9:30-11 AM, Funeral service at 11 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Dream Factory.
