Edward G. McCoy

Edward G. McCoy, 94, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away, Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Edward was born at home on August 25, 1929, to Fred and Mable McCoy in St. Joseph, Missouri. On February 7, 1952, Edward married Darlene Tiller and from this marriage they were blessed with two children.

Edward spent a brief time serving in the Unites State Air Corp (Airforce). Upon his honorable departure from the military, he became instrumental in the startup of Western Container Company, where he worked for many years as plant manager. His favorite times were spent fishing with family at their home on Truman Lake.

Edward is preceded in death by both parents and wife, Darlene. He will be fondly remembered by his children Michael D. McCoy of Kansas City, MO, and Joan (Ron) Mooberry, also of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; Kerri Canyas, Amy Ballard, Katie Hunt, Kelly Cook, and Tracy Gardner; five great grandchildren; Judah Gardner, Sienna Gardner, Lily Ballard, Caleb Hunt, and Joeli Hunt,  and many extended family and friends.

Edward will be laid to rest next to his wife at  Terrace Park Cemetery.
