Edward Chapman

October 30, 1925 — July 31, 2018

Edward Eugene Chapman passed away on July 31, 2018. Edward was born on Oct. 30, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI to Margaret Brasier and Edward Chapman. The family moved to Kansas City, MO shortly after, where he would later graduate from Southeast HS in 1943. Edward served in the US Navyduring WWII from 1943 -1946. Following his service he continued his education studying chemistry from the Univ.of MO and Central Michigan Univ. Edward married Mildred Manring in 1947. Edward worked at Doty Labs from 1951-1967 and Harcross Chemical from 1967-1988. Since 1955, Edward was a member of Fairview Christian Church. He was also a member of the American Legion, and many chemical societies. Ed is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James; and granddaughters, Bridget Scanlan and Emily Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mildred; sons, Terry (Colleen) and Gregory (Jenny); grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Services will be held at Fairview Christian Church on Saturday, August 4th with a luncheon at 12pm, funeral at 1pm, followed by burial at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the church.
The Family wishes to thank the following for their special care of Edward during his many years of illness;  Andrea, Dan & Rhonda at North Kansas City Home Health, Heather at the Three Rivers Hospice and to his Caregiver Linda Redburn for all her love and care.

The Family's favorite Scripture JOHN 3:16  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
