EDNA ARDELL CLARKSON
Edna Ardell Clarkson, 86, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at the North Care Hospice, in North Kansas City, Missouri. Edna was born on June 15, 1930 to the late William Leslie and Anna Laura (Coates) Taylor, in Bluejacket, Oklahoma.
Ardell graduated from Bluejacket High School in 1947. She married her high school love Troy Clarkson, and in 1951 moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she opened up a day care. Taking care of children became her passion, and even after retiring she volunteered in the nursery for the Northland Cathedral, and assisted with church meals. Ardell also loved cooking and baking for her family so much that she started Ardell’s Cakes and Catering. In her free time she also enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Ardell is survived by her four children; Gary (Lorri) Clarkson, Vaneissa (Jack) Willis, Les (Lynn) Clarkson, and Berkley (Marcia) Clarkson. Also nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, in August 2009. Brothers; Elwyn Taylor, Ross Taylor, Wayne Taylor, and sisters; Agnes Williams, Lena Henry, and Alene Burris.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 10:00 AM til time of service at 11:00 AM at the Northland Cathedral, 101 NW 99th St. Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery.
