Earl Ray Martin, 84 of Kansas City, MO died at NorthCare Hospice House on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. He was born February 25, 1932 in Riverside, MO to the late Harry and Marie (Muff) Martin.
He was a light hearted man who loved the Lord, loved his family and loved his work. He attended Brenner Grade School and Parkville High School; He was an operating Engineer: owning his own excavating company for many years; and was part owner in A&M Plumbing. He was an active member of Hoisting Engineers Local 101; dedicated member of Gashland Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, teacher and served on many committees. Greater than all of that was being married to Barbara for more than 62 years.
Earl was the loving husband of Barbara, dear dad of Dianna Marie (Larry) Goebel and Theresa Kay Martin; cherished grandfather of Billy (Laura) Wonder, Jon (Allison) Wonder, Whitney (Shane) Dooley and Kody Sharitz; great-grandfather of Amelia Wonder and William Dooley. Also surviving is his brother Benny Martin and other extended family.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Robert Martin, Junior Martin, Hazel Groves and Herbert Martin.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 10 AM. Funeral Service 11 AM at Gashland Baptist Church 601 NE Barry Rd. KCMO. Burial in Terrace Park Cemetery. The family welcomes flowers in lieu contributions. Share online condolences at TerraceParkFuneral.com.
