Dwaine Lee Enloe, 83, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at his home in Smithville, Missouri in the presence of his family.
Dwaine was born on October 20, 1940, on a farm in Russellville, Missouri to Elmer and Ruth (McDowell) Enloe. Growing up on the farm attributed to much of who he was as a man. He loved to tell stories about growing up there with his brothers and sister. At the age of thirteen, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Dwaine attended Northeast Highschool and continued to learn the value of hard work and perseverance.
After high school, he attended Kansas City Community College and then the University of Missouri, graduating with an Engineering degree. He was a life-long entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he owned and started several successful companies along with his brothers including Keystone Construction Company, Architectural Art Stone, Royal Block, and Heritage Cast Stone. Dwaine also developed Nebo Hill Estates in Liberty, Missouri. Dwaine served in the Army from 1966-1972.
At the age of twenty-six, he met Marsha Beckett, and they were married on April 27, 1968. They lived in Liberty, Missouri for many years and later moved to Smithville, Missouri. Together they have two daughters whom they love dearly. Dwaine was an amazing father, teaching “his girls” how to push themselves in all they did. He also had a wonderful relationship with his two son-in-laws. The highlight of his last 18 years was his time with Marsha and his six wonderful grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, teaching them things, and sharing stories from his past. He was a loving and sacrificial husband, father, and grandfather, and fiercely loyal to his family and friends.
Dwaine enjoyed many hobbies including wood working, traveling, mowing, and spending time outdoors. He had a great sense of humor, always looking for opportunities to laugh and joke around. He attended church with his family from a young age and trusted in Christ as his Savior as a teenager. In recent years, he loved spending time reading and studying the Bible with Marsha. He faithfully served as a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Temple in Kansas City, Missouri, and later he attended Faith Baptist Church in Smithville, Missouri.
Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ruth Enloe; and infant brother, William Harvey Enloe.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha (Beckett) Enloe; two daughters Susanne (Enloe) Frecks with husband, Garrett Frecks and Sara (Enloe) Hayes with husband Jed Hayes; grandchildren Gracyn Frecks, Hailey Frecks, Brandon Frecks, Summer Hayes, Savannah Hayes, and Sawyer Hayes; three brothers Darrell (Deb) Enloe, Dan (Vicky) Enloe, and Don (Diane) Enloe; and one sister Sharon (Gary) Wilcox.
After a four-and half-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis, Dwaine is now free from pain and in the presence of the Lord. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind an amazing legacy as a loyal and loving husband, father, and grandfather and a faithful child of God.
