Dorothy Marie Robbins (September 29, 1934 to May 20, 2022) was born in Polk City, IA to parents, Delma and Frances Ware. She is the last surviving sibling of 11 children. In 1953 upon graduating high school, she married Charley Robbins and moved to Kansas City, MO. She attended college at William Jewell College. Dorothy taught elementary school at Southeast Elementary in the Park Hill School district for 37 years. To her death, she remembered all her students and they often say she was their favorite teacher. She was heavily involved in her church, teacher’s sorority, and the Kansas City soccer community.
She made friends wherever she went and always made sure everyone was okay. She remained heavily involved in the lives of dozens of nieces and nephews throughout Iowa where she was from. Her death follows a courageous battle with cancer and she will be missed dearly after touching hundreds of lives. Even throughout her treatment, she brought life to every room and had a smile on her face.
She is survived by her 3 children, Raymond Robbins, Randall Robbins, and Rhonda Monnig, two grandchildren, Randy Robbins and Melissa Robbins, and three great-grandchildren, Rylie Robbins, Isaiah Head, and Harper Robbins.
Services will be held on Friday, May 27th beginning with a luncheon at 11AM, Visitation at 1PM, and Services at 2PM all at Linden Baptist Church in Gladstone, MO. Burial will be immediately following at Terrace Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. We kindly ask for donations to be made to Linden Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
