Dorothy Evelyn Martin, 94, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2023.

Dorothy was born on September 5, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri to parents, Herman and Edith Fiedler. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri. She married Everett Lee Martin on September 27, 1947, and from this marriage they were blessed with two sons. She spent much of her time caring for her family and home, she loved children and enjoyed many years of babysitting for friends and family. She was employed at Gladstone Bowl working in the children’s nursery, as well. Dorothy was a talented cook and gardener. She enjoyed listening to music, watching scary movies and collecting hundreds of dolls and Elvis Presley memorabilia. Being a huge Elvis fan, her favorite vacation memories were from her visit to Graceland. She is preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; her husband; and sons, Michael Martin and Jeffery (Stacey) Martin. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her grandchildren, Ronnie Martin, Steven (Melissa) Martin, Barbara (Michael) Parkison, Justin (Rachel) Taylor, and Braydon (Sarah) Taylor; great grandchildren, Noah and Owen Martin, Sawyer, Charli and Kaden Taylor and Kylee Dixon; daughter-in-law, Edna Martin, and her beloved terrier, Chester.

A graveside service will be held at Terrace Park Cemetery on Tuesday, January 10th at 1:00pm.
