Dorothy Louise King, 56, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. She was born on September 6, 1968, in Kansas to Jim and Gwendolyn Collins.
Dorothy dedicated many years of her career as a warehouse supervisor before later finding joy working for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals organizations. Her greatest pride, however, was her family—especially being a grandmother, a role she cherished above all.
A creative spirit, Dorothy had a passion for drawing, painting, and making jewelry. She especially enjoyed the beauty of Native American items, a nod to her Native American ancestry. She enjoyed collecting bears and Precious Moments figurines and was also a devoted animal lover, caring for many beloved cats and dogs throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her grandson, Phillip Farmer. Dorothy will be fondly remembered by her husband of 22 years, Dwayne King; her children, Scott Miller, Amanda Collins, Aaron Miller, Dustin Miller, and Stormy Farmer; her eight grandchildren, Rylee, Gabe, Sophie, Zaidyn, Lewis, and Skylyn; her brother, Tony Collins; and many extended family members and dear friends.
A private celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held by her family.
