Doris M. Mandina, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away April 14, 2017. She was born August 5, 1925 in Macon, Missouri to the late Frank Allen and Jennie L. (Mullinix) Cupp.
Doris was a loving mom and grandma. She found joy in both her children and grandchildren and loved them unconditionally. Doris was also a loving wife. She met Gus Mandina and the two were married in Kansas City on August 14, 1948. They spent 59 and a half years together before his passing in 2008. Doris never had a bad word to say about anyone and was an all-around sweetheart to those who knew her. She had a love for bowling and was active with the Red Hat Ladies. One highlight Doris always talked about was being on the girls’ basketball team while she was in high school.
In addition to her husband and parents, Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Mandina Clark and 3 siblings.
Those left to cherish her memory include her 4 children, Rosemary “Rosie” Hasselbring (Marvin Harness), Vito Mandina, Donna Wensec (Gary), Joe Mandina; son-in-law, Robert Clark; 5 grandchildren, Nick Wensec, D.J. Mandina, Ed Wensuc, Jim Wensuc, Rhenee Clark and 4 great-grandchildren, Jeremy Wensuc, Gretchen Wensuc, Blanden Wensuc and Ellis Wensuc.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 10-11 AM with services at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, MO 64155. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.
