DORIS ARLENE (CAMP) CUNNINGHAM, 88, of Kansas City, Missouri left this world on March 2, 2013. Mrs. Cunningham was born in Unionville, Missouri on January 29, 1925 the daughter of William A. Camp and Lillie Opal Camp. She attended Kirksville College and taught grades 1-8 in a one room schoolhouse prior to uniting in marriage with James Harvey Cunningham on November 16, 1946. Along with being a mother of six children she was a mother to many, her home was always open to family and friends. Doris was a member of Easter Star and Nashua Baptist Church. She also worked for the Clay County Election Board in Liberty, Missouri. Preceding in death include loving husband, James H. Cunningham, her mother, father and sister Avis Brummitt and brothers Bernard and Billy Camp. Survivors include 4 sons, James E. (Tamera) Cunningham of Atlanta, Donald L. Cunningham of NKC, MO, William M. (Nancy) Cunningham of Kansas City, Edward T. Cunningham of Pollock, MO., 2 daughters, Shirley D. Russell of Clinton, MO and Janice H. Wilson of Liberty, MO., brother, Kenneth Camp of Mesa, AZ, 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandsons. The family suggests contributions be made to Catholic Charities of Kansas City, 20 W. 9th Street, Suite 600, KCMO 64105. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 6 from 6-8 pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park with an Eastern Star service at 7 pm. Funeral services are 1 pm Thursday, March 7th at Nashua Baptist Church.
