Dora Deane Walter, 92, of Raymore, MO died at The Rehabilitation Center of Raymore on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Deane was born September 7, 1922 in Halls, MO, the fifth of eight brothers and sisters born to the late James E. and Grace Dean (Wilson) Reno.
Besides being a key punch operator, she was a devoted wife for 72 years. After her husband returned from WWII, they lived the majority of their life in Arizona before coming home to Missouri in their later years. For many years Deane was a member of the Raytown St. Paul Nazarene church.
Deane is survived by her husband Gerald B. Walter; now of Raymore, two sister; Melba Grove & family of North Kansas City and Bonnie Jean Hankins and family of Lee’s Summit; one step-sister on her husband’s side, Irene Walter of Monroe, Washington. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2015 from 1 PM until time of service at 2 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St. (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Interment will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Deane’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W. 75th St. Prairie Village, KS, 66208.
