Dora Harrison 86, recently living in Kansas City and formerly from Fern Park, Florida, passed away early in the morning on Tuesday December 22, 2020. She will be missed by family and friends.
Dora was a strong-willed woman who knew what she wanted. She had an independent streak and lived her life on her terms. Dora lived in her Fern Park home for over 25 years and made numerous friends in her neighborhood and at the Senior Center. Dora was a regular attendee at the Senior Center and could be found most days playing bingo and enjoying conversation with her many friends.
Dora was born on May 12, 1934 in Guantanamo, Cuba to Pedro and Maria (Rosseaux) Blanco. Dora and Max Harrison were married in Guantanamo Bay Cuba on May 8, 1954, just prior to Dora graduating high school, where Max was stationed in the Navy.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (in 2004), and siblings; Amado Blanco, Pedro Blanco, Maria Fariselli, and Rosa Muldez.
She will be fondly remembered by her children and their spouses; Wanda (David Willis) Harrison, Wilda (Thomas) Moore, Roy (Janice Simpson) Harrison, Nancy (David) Lobsinger; her grandchildren; Katherine (Dominic) Petrucci, Jason Robinson, and Michael Lobsinger along with nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private graveside service will take place at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church Columbarium at 350 MO 150, Lee’s Summit, MO in early January.
