Donna Joan Pigg, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2023 at her home in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on December 23, 1931 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Albert and Vera Stanford.
Preceded by Parents, Siblings and Grandson, James “Denny” Davis, in 2010.
Survivors include daughter, Deborah Keating (Kansas City) and husband, Jim; son, David Nauman (Claycomo) and wife, Kathy; daughter, Gale Stockton (Kansas City). Grandchildren: Amy Davis (Kansas City), Jennifer Simpson (Kansas City) and husband Charlie; Christopher Nauman (Newark, DE) and wife, Amanda Nauman; Kristina Anderson (Windsor) and husband, Jesse; Aaron Stockton (Lenexa KS) and wife, Suzanne and Katherine Huckabey (Independence) and husband, Cole. Great Grandchildren: Ramona Nixon, Austin, Cayden and Aaron Simpson, Corbin Nauman, Austin and Blake Denny, Courtney and Delaynie Gass, Connor Witt; Cody and CeCe Stockton, Ethan, Collin and Norah Huckabey.
Donna graduated with honors as valedictorian in her class at Benton High School in St. Joseph, Missouri. As she moved into the job field, she kept in contact with her best friend, Naomi, each night to find out the latest secretarial methods they were teaching in secretarial school. Her employers very impressed. Donna was extremely organized, with an eye for detail, and known as the best credit manager they ever had at her place of business, Morgan Wightman.
Donna married the love of her life, Ed Pigg, on May 5, 1979. They shared a love of baseball and the Kansas City Royals! Ed was always the salesman and became a Royals Lancer, selling season tickets After Ed passed away in 2000, Donna went on to become a Lancer herself. One of the many perks were free trips to American League ball parks and vacation hot spots all over the world.
Donna was a very faithful member of the Northland Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri, where she was a devoted participant in the Women’s Life group. She also attended weekly bible studies in the community. She developed many friends along the way, and was well known for reaching out to speak directly with those in need. She loved her neighbors and shared their burden.
Services will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri; Visitation to be held Friday, April 28, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm; Funeral to be held Saturday April 29, 2023, at 2:00 pm.
