Donald Mueller, 88, of Raymore, MO passed away November 11, 2016. He was born Dec. 7, 1927 in Des Moines, IA to the late Willard and Stella (Flatt) Mueller.
Donald was a man who travelled the world and loved the Lord. He met the love of his life, Shirley Harmon and on Dec. 8, 1945, they were united in marriage in Des Moines. Shortly after their union, they moved to Kansas City where Donald tuned pianos, and also opened a music store.
Over the years, Donald and Shirley raised many foster kids. They opened their home and their hearts to all who were in need. Donald also ministered to many others through his work as a prison minister for over 17 years. Another one of his many callings was as the pastor of his church in Kearney. Donald also served the Lord by mentoring the youth as a Sunday school teacher.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Shirley; 2 daughters, Linda Chamberlain and Rebecca Whitmore; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and many foster children.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 from 6-7 PM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, KCMO with services starting at 7 PM. Burial will be 2 PM Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 in Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
