Donald Ray Fainter, 79, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on October 11, 2020. Donald was born on March 19, 1941 in Mexico, Missouri to Eldon and Lola Fainter. When he was just 13 years old he was given his first opportunity to drive a commercial truck and from then on he continued to fulfill his passion of driving and traveling. He worked as an over-the-road trucker for over 50 years and was known by his CB handle “Kangaroo”. Donald loved bringing his family along with him on his long trips, and especially enjoyed traveling to Pennsylvania, because of the beautiful rolling hills and Dutch countryside. Even in retirement he stayed busy and spent much of his time working as a door greeter at Walmart. His friendly upbeat attitude gained him many friends and he was affectionately known by many of the customers as the “Sticker Man”. Donald’s favorite pastimes were eating and watching wrestling, Wheel of Fortune, and Western movies, specifically anything with John Wayne. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Lola Fainter, and brother, Leslie Fainter. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Marilyn Marie Fainter; children, Jacqueline Kay Barton and son-in-law, Wayne Barton, Kathrine Jo Woody and son-in-law, Michael Wynn, Kimberly Jean Hedrick and son-in-law, Michael Hedrick; stepson, Leslie Lee Fainter; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
