Donald G. Clesson, 67, of Smithville, Missouri passed on to Heaven on Monday, December 23, 2013 at his home. Don was born on March 12, 1946 in Sandwich, Illinois, the son of Gloyd (preceded in death) and Shirley Clesson. He married Susan Gray on July 26, 1973. Don and Susan have 5 children: Mandy (Clesson) George and husband, Gary, of Valley Center, KS; Don E. Clesson of Ft. Worth, TX; Mitch Clesson of Valley Center, KS; MacKenzie Clesson of Kansas City, MO and Grant Clesson of Smithville, MO. He is also survived by 1 granddaughter, Gabrielle George and 1 step-granddaughter, Abigail George; and 1 sister, Ronica Shrishuhn and her husband, Gordon, of Harristown, IL. Don grew up in Decatur, Illinois area and moved with Susan to Kansas in 1975. Don was a born again Believer and a Christian since 1987. He was a servant of God in many ways through the years. Don served in the United States Army from 1968-1969. He was proud to serve his country as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division- "Screaming Eagles" in the Vietnam War. Don's career was in Sales, primarily in the restaurant equipment industry. Don had many passions through his life- most important to him were his kids, bicycling, travel adventures with Susie and making us all laugh. Don bravely fought brain cancer for 21 months. Don participated in the HFTC walks for 2 years, and we'll continue in our warrior Don Clesson's honor until a cure is discovered. Memorial service will be 10am, Monday, December 30th, 2013 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Chapel with visitation one hour prior.
