Dona Sickles

September 30, 1942 — March 2, 2016

Dona Jean Sickles (Harris) of Kansas City, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 2, 2016 at the age of 73 surrounded by her husband and girls. In her younger years she was a member of the International Order of Job's Daughters and an active member of Beta Sigma Pi. She was also a member of several square dance clubs in Tulsa OK. Most recently, she attended Platte Woods United Methodist Church and was a member of the ladies bible study.  She was also a snow birder that enjoyed time in Mesa, AZ with Harold and lots of friends.  Dona was a loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, cousin, auntie and friend.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  Dona is survived by her husband Harold and mother-in-law Vivian Sickles of Kansas City, MO, 3 daughters Kelly Hoefer (David) of Owasso, OK, Laurie Wildman & Terri Carlisle of Kansas City, MO, Brother Darrell Harris of Airdrie, AB, Canada and 8 grandchildren Blake, Garrett, & Tristin Hoefer, Joshua, Spencer, & Parker Wildman and Christopher & Kaitlynn Carlisle.  Dona was predeceased by her parents John & Gertrude Harris, father-in-law Harold D. Sickles, two granddaughters Toshia & Tabitha Hoefer and nephews Michael & Tim Harris and 1 great nephew Matthew Harris. A visitation to see the family will be held Monday March 7th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Platte Woods United Methodist Church, 7310 N.W. Prairie View Rd, Platte Woods, MO followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Christine Tucker-Key presiding.  If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Luke’s Hospice House: http://saintlukesgiving.org/hospice.
