DON “RED” ATTEBERY
Don “Red” Attebery, 84, of Kansas City, MO passed away July 16, 2016. He was born August 19, 1931 in Jasper County, MO to the late Luther Ernest and Nellie B. (Wigington) Attebery.
Don was a member of Local 315 Carpenter Union for 54 years and also a member of the National and Kansas City Weimaraner Clubs. He was a family man. Don loved to take his grandkids fishing and taught them all a love for painting. He loved hunting, fishing, showing and training dogs. He planted this love that he had of the outdoors in his kids and grandkids. He was a master with his hands and had the ability to make things come to life with wood, metal or paper. Don’s carpenter skills were unmatched and his ability to bring his imagination to life was almost mystical. He never missed a sporting event, school function or anything that involved his grandkids.
Don had an ornery streak and a stubbornness that very few would cross. He stood for what he thought was right and wouldn’t flinch at anyone challenging him.
Don will be missed dearly; for this world will not be the same without him. He must have been needed for something bigger that what was here. R.I.P. “Red”.
Don is preceded in death by his brother, Luther Ernest Attebery, Jr.
Those left to cherish Don’s memory include his wife of 47 years, Mary; 4 children, George D. (Donnie) Attebery, Jr., Mica Rager, William Edwin (Eddie) Andrews, Douglas (Eric) Attebery; 8 grandkids and 4 great-grandkids.
