Dolores Eileen Thompson, 95, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingwood, Texas on December 6, 2019.
Dolores was born to Elmer and Sybil (Counterman) Wasmuth on June 30, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas. She married Lawerence A. Thompson on March 31, 1951 and they had two daughters and resided in Gladstone, Missouri until they moved to Kingwood, Texas, in April of 2006.
Dolores was a meat wrapper for Bob’s United Suppers in Kansas City for 17 years and then was asked to manage Plattwood Dairy Queen by family friends, Mr. & Mrs. W.O Lee and was with them for 11 years.
She was a member of the ABWA, American Business Women’s Association of Kansas City, and held the position of president for two years.
Dolores is preceded in death by her mother Sybil, father Elmer, stepmother Lola, brother Jack, and husband Lawerence.
She leaves behind her daughter Sharon, son-in-law Joe, grandsons Pete and Cody Slater, great granddaughter Ruby Slater; and daughter Kimberly, and son-in-law Robert Garwood.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, December 20 at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, (169 and Shoal Creek Pkwy) Kansas City, MO, with visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, December 19.
