Diana Lynn Lee, 65, of Kansas City, Missouri, pass away on Tuesday, August 1, 207 at Two Palms Nursing Home in Pasadena, California. Diana was born June 14, 1952 to Harry B. and Willo Jean Lee in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Oak Park High School in 1970.
After working at Wonder Bread and Trailways Bus lines in Kansas and Missouri, Diana moved to Los Angeles California in 1988 and shifted into a successful career in outside sales for companies including Ganton Micro-Computer Rentals, Xircom and NetBizkit, before transitioning to public relations for Maxon Computer Inc. Diana also volunteered with the Los Angeles chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH, and served with the organization in various capacities, finally as Vice Chair. It is through SIGGRAPH that Diana met and eventually married James Allan May in 2009. Diana’s interests included movies and visual effects, cooking and entertaining, wine tasting, swing dancing, museums, antiques and architecture. She also loved animals, providing a loving home to many dogs and cats throughout her life, in particular Bea, Schmuck and Dusty. Diana was an open, friendly soul who could bring a smile to any face, and also a strong-willed fighter who inspired dozens with her fight against her illness.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Harry B. Lee. Those left to remember her forever include her mother, Willo Jean Lee of Kansas City, Missouri, and her husband James Allan May of Los Angeles, California; and many friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be Monday, August 14, 207 from 10-11 AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 11 AM at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street (169 Highway and Shoal Creek) Kansas City, MO. Burial to follow in Terrace Park Cemetery.
