David C. Tinsley, 82, of Kansas City, Mo passed away July 31, 2015. Memorial services are 4:00 pm Friday August 7th at Northgate Baptist Church, 800 NE Vivion Road, with visitation preceding services 2:30 – 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Friends of Lakeside Nature Center, 4701 E. Gregory Blvd., KCMO 64132.
David was born February 2, 1933 in Kansas City, Mo. He was a strong and independent man, with a love for the Lord, a member of Northgate Baptist Church, a long-time Master Mason (involved with multiple lodges as a member and mentor), and a volunteer with Friends of Lakeside Nature Center (rehabbing and releasing orphaned baby squirrels) for more than 20 years. His interests were varied and included square dancing, traveling, fishing and camping. He was precise and meticulous in everything he did. His ingenuity as a machinist carried over into his shop at home where he enjoyed developing solutions and improving his everyday world. He will be greatly missed by many people and organizations throughout the community. David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Tinsley. Survivors include his children, Debra “Nici” Allen and husband, Robert, Rebecca Mayhugh, David W. Tinsley, Marvin Pool, Daniel Pool, John Pool, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, as well as his brothers, Floyd Tinsley, and wife, Vaughnie, Carl Tinsley, and wife, Ruth, and Paul Tinsley, and wife, Bobbie.
