David Charles Dierks, 70, Kansas City, Mo passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 11, 2015. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Thursday January 15th at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th St (169 Hwy & Shoal Creek Prkwy).
He was born on October 31, 1944 in Flandreau, South Dakota to Martin and Lillian Dierks. He was the youngest of six children. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Collins Dierks and sons Andrew Martin Dierks and wife Bridget, Zachary David Dierks and fiancé Suzanne Shepherd. He is also survived by sister Dorothy Stimson and husband Ken, brother Dr. Richard Dierks and wife Sharla and many nieces and nephews. David was a graduate of Northern State University in business administration and was a Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He retired from Geiger Ready Mix in 2009.
He was an avid sports fan and would even resort to watching high school softball on Metro Sports given no other option. He was an organ recipient and donor, and memorial gifts may be made in his memory to the UNOS Foundation. David was beloved by his family and will be missed.
