Darrell James Legault, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away, Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Saint Luke's South. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 18th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64155. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. Catherine’s of Siena Catholic Church, 4101 E. 105th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64137. Father Sunoj Thomas will be officiating. A gathering for a shared meal will follow at the O’Hara Council Knights of Columbus Hall at 5111 E. 112th Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial will follow in Terrace Park Cemetery, 801 NW 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64155. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus, O’Hara Council #4387. Darrell was born on September 25, 1960 on Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois to Marlin C. and Frances J. (Fischer) Legault. He graduated from Park Hill High School in 1978. Darrell was employed for many years by Sutherland Lumber Company. During this time he advanced through the company and made many lifelong friends. He left Sutherland Lumber Company in 1994. Most recently he was employed by US Toy Company. During his tenure, he was highly respected and honored for his accomplishments and contributions to the establishment.  Darrell was an active member of the O’Hara chapter of the K of C. He joined them on May 28, 2014. He became a fourth degree member in April of 2015 and quickly became a Deputy Grand Knight. Darrell was involved in all aspects of the council including almost all charity events. In addition to being a K of C, he also was an active member of St. Catherine’s of Siena Catholic Church and served on the Parish Ministry Council. Darrell was a hard worker who took much pride in everything he did. Throughout his life, he often did more for others than himself. He was a man of few words, but great integrity.  He enjoyed soccer, carpentry, and spending time with his family. Darrell will be remembered for his kind heart, loving smile and great wisdom. He will be missed by many. Darrell is survived by his two children, Christina Marie Albrecht and her wife Jacklyn Albrecht of Kearney, Missouri and James Thomas Legault of Springfield, Missouri; one grandchild Kaylee Renee Albrecht; parents Marlin C. and Frances J. (Fischer) Legault; siblings Doreen Chandler (Sheldon), Darleen Walsh, Sandy Cox, David Legault, Marlin Legault, Donald Legault (Amy), Gregory Legault and Dawn Uzelac (Dwayne) and many nieces and nephews.
