Curtis Bauman

April 4, 1930 — February 3, 2013

Curtis E. Bauman passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Liberty Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and four children, after a valiant battle with COPD. Curt was born in Amazonia, Missouri, on April 4, 1930, to Carl Bauman and Nettie (Bisig) Bauman. On February 3, he finally met his mother in Heaven, who died one week after his birth from complications of childbirth. Curt married Marjorie Schweizer, his high school sweetheart and devoted wife of 62 years, on January 26, 1951. Together they raised four children. Curt graduated from Ingalls High School, Ingalls, Kansas, in 1947. From 1950-1954 he served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. With family roots in farming, Curt left the family farm in 1959 to build a 50-year career in the financial services industry, culminating as a general agent for Kansas City Life Insurance Company. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter. Aside from his career, Curt was an active member of Platte Woods United Methodist Church for decades. He was Scoutmaster for Troop 324 in Richmond, Missouri, and served on the board of the
