Clyde Williams, 93, joined his Heavenly Father on November 19, 2023.
Clyde was born on April 13, 1930, on the family farm in Springhill Township, Johnson County, KS. His first eight years of schooling were in a one room country school. He then attended Olathe public high school, graduating in 1948. Clyde attended Kansas University under the Navy ROTC program, graduating with a BS in Chemical Engineering and a commission as Ensign in the Navy.
Clyde and Patricia (McPherson) were married on February 6, 1953. Clyde spent 1953 to 1956 in the Navy onboard the USS Yorktown with two tours to the Korean peninsula. Clyde and Patricia had two daughters, Debora Dean and Diane Reinhard. Clyde was a member of the Sharon 4H Club, as well as a member of Gashland United Methodist Church, Northland Optimist Club, Rising Sun Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine, VFW, and the American Legion. He is survived by his two daughters, six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery on Monday, November 27th, with visitation beginning at 1:00pm, funeral service at 2:00pm and burial following.
