Clarence Ballentine

Clarence Eugene Ballentine "Gene" passed away peacefully at his home in Gladstone, MO on January 17, 2012. Gene was born February 23, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1957 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Gene was a proud member of Post 76 Masonic Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Missouri. He owned and operated "Gene and Son Auto Repair and Tow Service" from 1983-1994. After semi-retirement, Gene worked at Chouteau Auto Mart from 1997-2004.Gene was one of three children of the late Clarence and Minnie Margaret Ballentine and was the beloved husband of Shirley Ballentine for 51 years. Gene will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers Ray Ballentine of Excelsior Springs, MO, Richard Ballentine and sister Bonnie Irwin, both of Little Rock, AR. Beloved children Edward Ballentine of Gladstone, MO, Margaret Lower of Kansas City, MO and Belinda Goodwin of Blue Springs, MO, 11 treasured grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.Gene touched many lives by his endless jokes, laughter and generosity. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21 at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home.
