Charlotte L. McLain, 74, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2020 in Lee’s Summit, MO. Visitation will be held at Terrace Park Funeral Home in the Lakeside Chapel at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2020. Service will follow in the Lakeside Chapel at Noon followed by a committal service in Terrace Park Cemetery. Charlotte was born on November 28, 1945 in Boise, Idaho to Charles and Vivian Miller. She was a longtime employee of the U.S. Government, working mostly with the EPA and finishing her career with The Homeland Security. She loved her work with the government and especially with the EPA. She often went onsite with the EPA. One site in particular was the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Prince William Sound, Alaska in 1989. She was very proud of her work and retirement from the government. She loved spending time with her four grandchildren and also spent time with crocheting and counted cross-stitch projects. She was a very simple woman who lived her life well. She loved her vanilla soft serve ice cream with chocolate syrup and please nothing fancy like hot fudge. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jesse B. McLain Jr. in 2007 and her sister, Henrietta Hanson just this past year. She is survived by her only child, Michelle Lees and her husband, Jerry and their four children, Katelyn, Chloe, Sophia and Josiah. She is also survived by her nephew, Mike Hanson and many family and friends.
