Charlotte Marie Schnabel Matlock, 89, Kansas City Missouri passed away November 19, 2013. She had been a resident of Kansas City, Missouri since 1954. Born May 29, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ida and Martin J. Schnabel. The family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri where Charlotte attended Central High School. She was a member of the U.S.O. Hostess St. Joseph Chapter and moved to Washington D.C. with her sister and friends working at the U.S. Weather Bureau in 1944-1945. She returned to St. Joseph and later married Bud Matlock in June 1950. They later moved to Kansas City where Charlotte worked in the TWA Dining Commissary for 22 years retiring in 1979. In retirement she enjoyed family, friends, travel and remained active with her TWA family of friends. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday November 24th at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 801 Northwest 108th Street, Kansas City, Missouri and 10:30 - 11:00 am Monday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday November 25th at Church of the Redeemer, 7110 Hwy 9 NW, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mount Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Church of the Redeemer. She is preceded by her husband Bud and daughter Sandy, and 5 siblings. She leaves two sons Bob and Rick and daughter Cindy of Kansas City, two granddaughters Tammy and Jennifer and one grandson Chance and 4 great grandchildren.
