Charles A. “Bud” Kraft, age 92 of Gladstone, MO passed away on July 30, 2017 at 10:30 PM. He was born in Bismarck, North Dakota on March 29, 1925 to Constantine P. and Sarah Ann (Bluhm) Kraft. Bud was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, KCMO. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the E.T.O, from Normandy Beach through the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post #95 in Liberty, MO. Bud was a former Scout Master of Troop 247 at Gashland and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1980 as a supervisor in KCMO after 31 years of service. Bud was a volunteer at NKC Hospital for a number of years and worked with projects like Habitat for Humanity in Texas for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Charles in 1999; brothers, Everett LaMoine, Hubert Clayton, Gaylord and a sister, Beatrice Ann.
Bud leaves his wife Jean after 68 years of marriage; son, Kenneth and wife Terry; 3 granddaughters, Connie, Rachel and Emily; 2 grandsons, Charles and Jonathan; 2 great-grandsons, Colton and Connor and 2 sisters, Marlys and Delores.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 12:30-1:30 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2003 NE Englewood Rd., KCMO with services beginning at 1:30 PM. Burial with military honors to follow in Newcomers White Chapel Cemetery in Gladstone. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
