Charles D. Sherman, 78, Gladstone, MO, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday June 23rd at Terrace Park Funeral Home, 169 Hwy. & Shoal Creek Parkway, with visitation preceding services 9:00 – 10:30 am. Burial will be in Platte City Cemetery. Mr. Sherman was born on May 5, 1937, in Kansas City, MO. He attended East High School and proudly served in the United States Navy. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Park College in Parkville, MO. He began his career in law enforcement with the Federal Bureau of Narcotics as a Special Agent of the Treasury Department. For the next 30 years, he worked for the Bureau and its successor organizations; the Bureau of Drug Abuse Control, the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, and the Drug Enforcement Administration of the Justice Department. He held posts in Los Angeles, Denver, New York, Kansas City, San Francisco, and Washington DC. He retired in 1988 from the Washington DC office as Chief of the Special Operations Division. After retiring from the federal government, he worked as an Investigator for the Missouri Dental Board for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Kenneth Kennedy. He is survived by his wife, Jean Sherman, his son, Troy Sherman, and his mother-in-law, Betty Satchell. On line condolences may be left at TerraceParkFyuneral.com
