Smithville

Charlie Reisig, 75, of Smithville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at his home after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born on September 29, 1949, approximately 15 minutes after his twin brother, Kenneth, in Port Jefferson, New York, to Joseph and Julia (Biamonte) Reisig. Charlie grew up in Center Moriches, Long Island, along with Kenneth, sisters, Josephine and Maryann, and brother, Joseph. He graduated from Center Moriches High School. Charlie earned an AA degree from Suffolk County Community College, a BA from Ottawa University in Kansas, and an MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri.

Charlie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, stationed in South Korea. Throughout his career, he worked for several companies, but his fondest memories were of his time with Shasta Beverages/National Beverage, where he retired in 2017.

Charlie met the love of his life, Rosi Timmer, at Pomona Lake, Kansas, on July 4, 1970, and the two were married on Christmas Eve of the same year. Together, they raised a loving family, and Charlie worked tirelessly to ensure his children were supported and felt cherished. His greatest joy came from being a grandfather. Charlie had a special way of showing up for his grandkids, always encouraging them in their sports endeavors and showering them with love.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Rosi; children Jill and Andy McRill, Stacey Reisig, and Adam Reisig; grandchildren Aedan and Madison McRill; brothers Ken Reisig, Joe (Kelly) Reisig; sister Josephine (Vinnie) Kilcommons; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as the Reisig and Timmer families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Julia Reisig; sister Maryanne Reisig; sister-in-law Veronica Reisig; beloved nephew Kenneth Reisig; parents-in-law Ed and Dena Timmer; and brothers-in-law John Timmer and Rich Schembri, and sister-in-law Reye Jean Timmer.

A celebration of Charlie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Smithville American Legion, 2607 Route 92, Smithville, MO 64089.
