Charles B. Hill Jr., 83, of Platte City, Missouri, died on Friday, June 21, 2019. He was born in Kenedy, Texas on July 25, 1935, to the late Charles Hill Sr. and Lorene (Harp) Hill.
Charles grew up in Kenedy, Texas; proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958-1964. He married the love of his life, Mary R. Whitfield, on July 4, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas. When he was discharged from the Air Force Charles joined the Corpus Christi Highway Patrol. He found a better opportunity with TWA, in Kansas City, where he worked as an airline mechanic for 30 years. His passion for golf was something he passed down through his family. He loved to dance and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved his family more than anything.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Mary Hill, children Linda (Larry) Hibdon, Pamela (Bob) Chauvenne and Charles B. (Chimene) Hill III. Grandchildren Nikki, Zach, Sarah, Catie, Cristyn, Taylor, and Tyler. Great-grandchildren Jensen, Sloane, Ford, Audrey, Millie, Gideon, Lizzy, Korbin and Karson. Siblings Jimmy Hill, Charlene Hill and Judy Schlichting and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by 8 siblings.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 5-7 PM. Funeral Service will be Friday at 10 AM both at Terrace Park Funeral Home; 801 NW 108th St. Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the the Leukemia Foundation or St. Jude’s Hospital .
