Charles (Charlie) L. Hart, 87, passed away Sunday, June 30th 2019. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at his home. He was born February 6, 1932 to Forest and Etta Ruth (Riley) Hart in Wheatland, Missouri.
Charlie is a veteran of the Korean War. He served two years during this time, and then eight years in the Army Reserve. Charlie earned several medals, including the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. His most significant duty assignment was BTRY B 933rd AAA AW Bn (m) APO 971.
Charlie was united in marriage to Lotus Stamper on March 26, 1955. He worked for Natkin Company for 38 year’s retiring at age 63. He and his wife moved to Deltona, Florida after retirement. Charlie and Lotus moved back to the Kansas City area in 2004. A year ago they moved to Tennessee to be closer to their son and his family. Charlie could always be counted on to help out family, friends, neighbors or anyone. His grandchildren have so many stories of all that he taught them. Whether it was tinkering in his shop, taking care of his tomato plants, going on a bike ride and pretending to be lost, even when they were having fun he was teaching them.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Forest and Etta Ruth Hart; his sisters, Naomi Patton, Lottie Lou Ball; his brothers, Nelson Hart, James Robert Hart. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Lotus Hart; son and spouse, Doug and Dawn Hart; grandchildren, Stephanie Hart, Joshua Hart (Amanda), Caleb Hart (Crystal), Bridgett Hickman (Rodney), Brant Fitzpatrick (Linda); his great grandchildren, Juliann Jones, Calonzo Edwards, Micah Fitzpatrick, Peyton Fitzpatrick, Sylas Fitzpatrick, Neriah Fitzpatrick, Logan Hart and Jakoby Hart; numerous nephews, nieces and special friends
Services will be held Friday, July 5th at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 801 N.W. 108th Street, KC, MO. Viewing will begin at 2pm with services starting at 2:30pm.
